Catering Assistant – Part‑time, Term‑time (12.5 hrs/week)

About the role

Join HCL as a Catering Assistant at Meldreth Primary School, working 12.5 hours per week during school terms. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safeguarding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to pupils.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards at all times.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining spaces clean.
• Represent HCL by reflecting its values in every interaction.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding and the safety of children.
• Reliability and ability to work the agreed term‑time schedule.
• Willingness to follow HCL’s policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food handling and hygiene standards.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a food service environment.
