CATIA Surface Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CATIA V5 Surface Design Engineer to join our Airframe Engineering team in Bristol (or Runcorn) on a hybrid, six‑month contract. The role focuses on creating and validating complex aircraft surfaces within an aerospace PLM environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify advanced aircraft surfaces using CATIA V5 surfacing workbenches.
• Develop aerodynamic surfaces from 2D sectional data for analysis and prototype development.
• Verify surface continuity, tangency and quality against design requirements.
• Compile and maintain Bills of Materials (BoM) for surface components.
• Manage product structures and engineering change lifecycles within PLM systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the aircraft development process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in CATIA V5 surface design for aerospace applications.
• Familiarity with PLM environments, preferably Teamcenter.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced engineering setting.
