Chef – School Kitchen (Loreto Grammar School)

About the role

We are looking for a Chef to join the kitchen team at Loreto Grammar School. Working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, you will support the Chef Manager in delivering fresh, high‑quality meals for students and staff during term time.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of main meals and snacks for over 200 covers per service.
• Cook using fresh, seasonal ingredients in a high‑volume environment.
• Provide occasional counter service and operate the till when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining area at all times.

Required profile

• Experience as a chef, preferably in school or contract catering (not essential).
• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and delivering quality food.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Reliability and pride in maintaining high standards.
