Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Mental Health Charity

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead Rochdale & District Mind, an independent mental health charity, to deliver its mission of supporting people facing mental health and wellbeing challenges. This senior role combines strategic vision with hands‑on operational oversight to ensure the organisation thrives and remains true to its values.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and execute the strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Trustees and senior leadership.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across the charity.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to sustain growth.
• Champion diversity, inclusion, and a culture of continuous learning.
• Develop and nurture relationships with partners, commissioners, donors, and service users.
• Lead fundraising, business development, and advocacy initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CEO or senior leader in a comparable voluntary or non‑profit organisation.
• Passion for mental health advocacy and a values‑led leadership style.
• Strong track record in governance, board collaboration, and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to guide teams through change and foster inclusive cultures.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
