Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Trials & ATIMPs

About the role

The University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced clinical trials pharmacist to take on the senior leadership position of Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials. In this role you will direct the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit, overseeing a portfolio of around 600 studies across oncology, neurology and early‑phase programmes, and managing a multidisciplinary team of roughly 30 professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership for the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit.
• Ensure all studies are conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
• Support national clinical trial networks and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Lead and develop the pharmacy team, fostering professional growth and high‑quality performance.
• Collaborate with investigators, sponsors and regulatory bodies to facilitate successful trial delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with extensive experience in clinical trials.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, complex trial portfolios.
• Strong understanding of GCP, regulatory requirements and clinical research processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
