Childminding Assistant – Home‑Based Childcare

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Childminding Assistant to join our friendly home‑based childcare setting in Hoddesdon. Working alongside the registered childminder, you will help deliver high‑quality care and support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key responsibilities

• Support the registered childminder in providing care for children from birth to school age.
• Plan and deliver play‑based activities that promote learning and development.
• Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment, including preparing healthy meals.
• Assist with personal care such as toileting, hand‑washing and nappy changing.
• Accompany children on local outings, following risk assessments.
• Observe children’s interests and contribute to learning records.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers and the small team.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
• Previous experience in an early years or childcare setting.
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) knowledge.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable).
• Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
