Children's Residential Support Worker – Swansea

About the role

Airmid Healthcare is recruiting experienced Children's Residential Support Workers for a position in Swansea, South Wales. The role provides day-to-day care, support and encouragement to children and young people living in residential settings, helping them build confidence, independence and life skills. Shifts are available on days, evenings, weekends and nights, with immediate start dates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emotional and practical support
• Support daily routines and follow individual care plans and risk assessments
• Build positive, trusting relationships and encourage independence and personal development
• Support activities, education and recreational opportunities
• Support young people who may display challenging behaviour
• Maintain accurate daily records and care documentation
• Work with colleagues, families and other professionals, following safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience in residential care, supported accommodation, education, SEN or social care
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach, with confidence supporting challenging behaviour
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and flexibility to work different shifts
• Relevant qualifications in Children's Residential Care, Health & Social Care, Autism, SEN, trauma-informed care or behavioural support are desirable
