CIAG Advisor – Support Offenders in Custody

About the role

The CIAG Advisor works directly with offenders who are serving custodial sentences, helping them develop the skills, training and confidence needed to secure employment on release. This role is pivotal in breaking the cycle of re‑offending and supporting successful reintegration into the community.

Key responsibilities

• Engage prisoners in learning, training and employment programmes.
• Provide one‑to‑one guidance to prepare individuals for work after release.
• Maintain accurate records and update databases with progress notes.
• Meet individual targets and comply with quality and contract requirements.
• Collaborate with prison staff and external partners to coordinate opportunities.

Required profile

• Confident, proactive communicator with a non‑judgemental approach.
• Experience supporting offenders or other vulnerable groups.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work in a prison environment and adhere to compliance standards.

Required skills

• Comfortable working with databases.

What we offer

• Salary range £26,485 – £30,012 per annum.
• 37.5‑hour week with flexitime and the ability to bank extra hours.
• 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with up to 6 additional days for long service.
