Civil Enforcement Officer

About the role

This position involves enforcing parking regulations in the Barking area, ensuring traffic flows smoothly and providing advice to the public. You will work on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays, and be a visible deterrent to inconsiderate parking.

Key responsibilities

• Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles parked in contravention of regulations.
• Record evidence and observations of parking violations.
• Provide parking advice and directions to members of the public.
• Report equipment faults, sign problems, and abandoned vehicles to management.
• Act as a deterrent to illegal parking to maintain free flow of traffic.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in civil or parking enforcement.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work 35+ hours per week on a rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Willingness to wear provided uniform and own black shoes.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns and overtime as required.
