Civil Engineer – Earthworks & Renewables (Scotland)

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join a project team in the Central Belt of Scotland. The role focuses on ground modelling and earthworks design for renewable energy infrastructure, primarily substation works. The position is site‑based and offers an immediate start on a six‑month initial contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed ground models for construction sites.
• Design earthworks, including cut/fill calculations and mass haul diagrams.
• Quantify earthworks volumes and ensure balanced earthmoving operations.
• Produce and review earthworks balancing reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on renewable substation projects.

Required profile

• Strong experience in ground modelling and earthworks design.
• Proven ability to perform quantification, mass haul diagram creation, and cut/fill analysis.
• Previous involvement in renewable energy projects, preferably substation construction.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the Central Belt of Scotland.
