Civil Superintendent – Experienced Civil Projects

About the role

Wood UK Operations is looking for an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead civil, structural steel and architectural works on high‑profile projects. You will coordinate on‑site activities, ensure design compliance, and deliver projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and organise the site construction team to deliver high‑quality work in line with contract requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering during design phases to optimise constructability.
• Lead HSE initiatives, fulfil CDM duty‑holder responsibilities and oversee safe systems of work (SSOW).
• Execute work according to project quality standards and support inspection and QC activities.
• Direct civil, structural and architectural contractors, monitor milestones and provide technical guidance.
• Review constructability of planned activities and give accurate feedback.
• Report performance, cost and schedule to site management and ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing medium to large construction projects, including civil, structural steel and architectural works.
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, construction execution and work‑pack development.
• Ability to influence design for optimum constructability and manage multidisciplinary site teams.
• Excellent monitoring and reporting skills with a focus on safety, quality and cost control.
