Civils and Structural Lead Engineer

About the role

Amentum's Engineering and Technical Services team is supporting complex infrastructure upgrades in a secure, nationally important defence environment. It is looking for an experienced Civil, Structural and Architectural (CS&A) Senior Lead Engineer to give technical leadership and site-based engineering support across a portfolio of mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) installation projects. The role acts as the focal point for civil, structural and architectural engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with multidisciplinary design, construction and client teams to develop safe, practical and compliant engineering solutions.
• Assess existing structures and support construction delivery.
• Resolve site-based engineering challenges.
• Provide assurance for structural modifications, support systems and installation interfaces.

Required profile

• Experience delivering civil, structural and architectural engineering solutions in infrastructure, defence, nuclear, energy or similarly regulated sectors.
• HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering; Security Check clearance highly desirable.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information to a range of stakeholders.

Required skills

• Demonstrable capability in structural assessments, calculations and design verification.
• Experience designing or assessing steelwork, bracketry, support systems and ancillary structures associated with building services or MEP installations.
• Working knowledge of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and engineering assurance processes.
