Civils Works Supervisor – ASTI SSSE OHL Project (Alness, Scotland)

About the role

UIG Power T&D is seeking an experienced Civils Works Supervisor to lead teams on the ASTI SSSE Overhead Line (OHL) project in Alness, Scotland. You will ensure that civil works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise direct labour and subcontractor crews, ensuring compliance with client specifications, health & safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Manage on‑site QA processes, conduct inspections, record defects, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate daily activities with planners, schedulers, local authorities, and client operations to align with programme requirements.
• Validate job packs, monitor stock levels, and ensure necessary materials and tools are available.
• Identify and resolve special engineering challenges and traffic management issues.
• Maintain weekly plant and tool checks, ensuring calibration certificates are up to date.
• Capture and submit GRNs, provide regular updates to the back office, and ensure As‑Built documentation is completed for invoicing.

Required profile

• Civil engineering qualification with proven supervisory experience on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety standards (including HSG47) and QA procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholder communications.
• Excellent organisational skills to plan, prioritise, and report daily activities.
