Class 1 HGV Driver – Temporary Cover

About the role

We are seeking professional Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV drivers to provide short‑term holiday and sickness cover for a client in Avonmouth. The role starts on Monday 6th July and may run for one to two weeks, with occasional night trunking shifts as required.

Key responsibilities

• Complete 3–5 scheduled deliveries per day safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and ensure loads are secured.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork and delivery documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service while adhering to road transport, health and safety regulations.
• Occasionally undertake night trunking work when needed.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Current Driver CPC certification.
• Digital tachograph card and good understanding of drivers' hours regulations.
• Professional, reliable and safety‑conscious attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of a digital tachograph.
• Knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph compliance.
• Ability to conduct vehicle safety inspections.
