About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Classroom and Cover HLTA to join our team in central Plymouth. This full‑time, temporary role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to lead a Year 1 class while also covering a variety of subjects across other year groups.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a Year 1 class on Monday and Tuesday, delivering the full curriculum and managing assessments.
- Cover leadership release time and PPA from Wednesday to Friday, teaching a range of subjects to different year groups.
- Utilise duty‑free playtimes and lunchtimes for marking and preparation.
- Adapt lesson resources and update lesson information as required, using published schemes.
Required profile
- Qualified HLTA status or equivalent educational qualification; QTS holders are strongly encouraged.
- Experience of managing or leading a primary classroom.
- Good knowledge of the primary education curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with pupils, staff and parents.
