Cleaning Assistant

About the role

Our client is looking for reliable Cleaning Assistants to maintain university buildings, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. The role involves a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks across offices, communal areas and commercial spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of facilities, offices, communal and commercial areas according to schedule.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report any hazards.
• Use digital devices and email to receive instructions and log work.
• Support colleagues by providing cover when needed and undertake manual handling duties.

Required profile

• Good spoken and written communication skills.
• Basic numeracy and literacy.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective time‑management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to personal development and training.

Required skills

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Proficiency with basic digital devices and email communication.
