About the role
The Clinical Lead Orthotist will provide clinical leadership for the delivery of orthotic services across North Wales. This senior position involves shaping practice standards, advising senior management and supporting the development of a skilled orthotics workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain clinical standards for orthotic services in line with best practice.
- Provide expert clinical advice to the organisation, particularly to the Head of Podiatry and Orthotics.
- Create and implement a competency‑based framework for practitioners delivering orthotic devices.
- Design and deliver skills‑based training programmes for orthotics staff.
- Conduct critical analysis, appraisal and synthesis of current research and relevant literature to ensure expert knowledge and practice.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Extensive experience working within orthotics.
- Ability to travel between sites promptly.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management.
- Experience of audit, innovation or quality improvement projects.
Required skills
- Clinical leadership in orthotic services.
- Development of competency frameworks.
- Design and delivery of training programmes.
- Research appraisal and evidence synthesis.
- Proficiency in orthotic device assessment and fitting.
