Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ-4)

About the role

This position offers an experienced solicitor the chance to join a leading Clinical Risk team in Southampton, working on high‑value defendant clinical negligence claims for major healthcare providers and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload, drafting pleadings, witness statements and client correspondence.
• Negotiate and mediate claims, providing commercially focused advice.
• Act as the primary client contact and ensure compliance with client protocols.
• Supervise and mentor junior fee earners, contributing to training and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in business development initiatives and support the growth of the practice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in clinical negligence or insurance law.
• Experience gained at a national or specialist firm, preferably with NHS Resolution panel work.
• Strong organisational ability and confidence to work independently under pressure.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive, client‑focused approach.
