Clinical Team Leader – Mental Health (RMN/RNLD)

About the role

We are seeking a confident Clinical Team Leader to provide leadership and high‑quality care on the Kahlo Ward, an 11‑bed female acute mental health unit at Cygnet Hospital Woking. The role involves 38.5‑hour weeks on a rotating day and night shift pattern, supporting service users through acute episodes and ensuring safe, stabilising environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regular care audits and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide clinical leadership, coaching and mentoring to nursing staff.
• Maintain and review individual care plans in line with NMC guidelines.
• Administer medicines according to healthcare procedures and commission standards.
• Participate in relevant clinical committees and contribute to the annual Quality and Compliance plan.
• Engage in continuous professional development and CPD activities.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning and Development (RNLD) with a current PIN.
• Minimum two years post‑registration experience in a mental health setting.
• Demonstrated ability to document, audit and uphold clinical integrity.
• Commitment to patient recovery, risk management and service user empowerment.
• Compassion, resilience and a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in conducting clinical audits.
• Knowledge of NMC standards and medication administration protocols.
• Ability to mentor and develop nursing teams.
