Clinical Trials Pharmacist – Early Phase Research

About the role
Fortrea’s Leeds Phase I Clinical Research Unit is seeking a Clinical Trials Pharmacist to join its specialist pharmacy team. You will work directly with first‑in‑human studies, preparing and handling investigational medicinal products (IMP) in a cGMP‑compliant environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble and dispense IMPs within a clean‑room using sterile techniques and GMP standards.
- Support pharmacy production for live early‑phase clinical studies, ensuring accurate dose calculations and documentation.
- Collaborate with Technical Officers, clinic and quality teams to maintain study readiness and safe material handling.
- Develop and maintain pharmacy manuals, batch records, preparation logs and other study set‑up documentation.
- Operate, check and maintain pharmacy equipment in line with SOPs.
- Monitor storage conditions, including temperature and environmental controls, to protect product integrity.
Required profile
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree from an accredited university.
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK.
- Experience in a clinical research, hospital or industry pharmacy setting.
