CNC Machine Minder

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking manufacturing company in Swindon as a CNC Machine Minder. You will support CNC programmers and operators to keep machines running safely and efficiently, ensuring production stays on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist CNC setters in the safe and efficient operation of CNC turning machines.
• Load and unload products and components, following material handling procedures.
• Maintain coolant and oil levels to optimise machine performance.
• Monitor and record key measurements during runs, raising any non‑conformances immediately.
• Perform visual inspections of components for defects and document findings.
• Manage movement and identification of products between work areas.
• Prioritise housekeeping of machines and surrounding areas.
• Handle and store tooling, gauges and equipment safely.
• Provide flexible support to other departments when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience with CNC turning machines or a similar engineering environment.
• Proficiency using micrometers and vernier callipers.
• Ability to work rotational early and late shifts on a 39‑hour week.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive safety mindset.
• Team‑player attitude with willingness to support across departments.
