CNC Machine Operator / Improver

About the role
We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator / Improver to join a family‑owned engineering business in Orpington. The position is ideal for an experienced CNC operator who wants to develop skills in machine setting and eventually programming.
Key responsibilities
- Follow job cards, procedures and team‑leader instructions.
- Operate CNC milling and turning machines.
- Inspect components as they exit the machines.
- Perform daily machine checks.
- Interpret engineering drawings and production methods to produce parts.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC milling and turning processes.
- Experience using inspection tools such as micrometres and verniers.
- Familiarity with an ISO 9001 quality system.
- Basic computer literacy and a motivated, pressure‑tolerant attitude.

What we offer
- 40 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑16:30) with overtime.
- £14.00‑£14.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
