CNC Operator – Precision Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join a well‑established precision engineering business in Abingdon. You will work on high‑specification components for demanding sectors such as medical, semiconductor and nuclear, using modern CNC milling equipment and supporting inspection tools.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set‑up and operate 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce right‑first‑time components.
• Create layout sheets, document tooling, set‑ups and machine parameters.
• Produce quality reports and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, organised and clean shop‑floor environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Miller or CNC Setter.
• Ability to programme and operate CNC milling machines on Heidenhain, Fanuc, Doosan, Matsuura or Mazak controls.
• Strong understanding of precision engineering tolerances and inspection methods.
