CNC Pre‑Kit Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented CNC Pre‑Kit Engineer to support our machining operations. You will prepare, organise and verify all tools, inserts, fixtures, gauges and consumables required for CNC jobs, ensuring smooth production runs and high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and assemble all required tools, inserts, fixtures and gauges for each CNC job.
• Cross‑check kits against job sheets, CNC programs and setup instructions, and label them clearly.
• Monitor tool usage, maintain minimum stock levels and report damaged or worn items.
• Maintain accurate records of kits prepared, issued and returned, updating ERP/MRP systems as needed.
• Inspect tools for wear or defects and follow safety protocols when handling sharp or heavy items.
• Coordinate with planners, machinists and production teams, escalating shortages or discrepancies promptly.
• Suggest improvements to reduce preparation time and participate in 5S and lean initiatives.

Required profile

• Experienced ex‑machinists or engineers with strong knowledge of machine tooling.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

• Competitive hourly rate up to £19.00 (based on experience)
• Standard working hours: Mon‑Thu 7:30‑16:30, Fri 7:30‑12:30 (39 hours/week)
