CNC Setter/Operator (Aluminium Systems)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join a leading aluminium systems manufacturer in Braintree. You will run CNC machinery, upload programmes and ensure high‑quality aluminium profiles are produced on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to cut, drill and machine aluminium profiles.
• Upload and run CNC programmes using LogiKal or similar software.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and production schedules.
• Set up CNC machines, tooling and materials for each production run.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor faults.
• Inspect finished components to confirm they meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop and follow health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering or technical drawings.
• Competence in setting up CNC machines and tooling.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work.
• Good problem‑solving skills and basic fault‑finding ability.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work well within a team.

• Aluminium profile machining
• Familiarity with aluminium glazing systems (e.g., Kawneer, Novastruct, Schueco, Metal Technology)

What we offer

• Permanent contract
• £16.00‑£16.50 per hour (salary visible)
• 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑4:30 pm (alternative patterns possible)
• On‑site work in Braintree, South East England
