CNC Turner / CNC Machinist – up to £42,000 per year

About the role

We are supporting a successful precision‑engineering business in Mere with a full‑time CNC Turner / CNC Machinist role. You will program, set‑up and operate Fanuc‑controlled turning centres to produce high‑quality components for demanding sectors such as aerospace.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set‑up and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components.
• Create new CNC programmes directly from engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Select, set and optimise tooling to improve production efficiency.
• Perform programme edits, offsets and minor adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Machine a variety of materials, including stainless steel and aluminium, ranging from small precision parts to larger diameter components.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintain accurate production records and adhere to quality procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Strong experience with Fanuc CNC controls.
• Ability to develop programmes from engineering drawings without external aid.
• Experience machining stainless steel and aluminium components.
