Commercial Account Handler – SME Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to manage a diverse SME portfolio for an independent broker in Stockport. You will work across multiple commercial classes, delivering straightforward insurance solutions and high‑level service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients across various commercial insurance classes.
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments and day‑to‑day client servicing.
• Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms and secure appropriate cover.
• Maintain accurate client records using the Acturis system.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and ensure a high standard of service.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance handling.
• Broad knowledge of core SME commercial lines.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator who puts clients first.
• Reliable, professional and easy to work with.

Required skills

• Acturis (preferred).
