Commercial Accountant

About the role

The Commercial Accountant will join a leading Business Services group as a key member of the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This position focuses on commercial accounting, financial planning and business partnering to support the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future performance.
• Manage the annual budgeting process and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Produce rolling forecasts and update financial projections regularly.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse financial results and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and modelling.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Develop dashboards to monitor key performance indicators.
• Ensure accurate, timely reporting in compliance with relevant standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the FP&A function.
• Leverage financial software and tools to streamline reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified, finalist or fully qualified accountant with strong commercial accounting experience.
• Proven ability to partner with business units and influence decision‑making.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
