Commercial Financial Controller – Luxury Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Financial Controller to join a leading luxury construction and fit‑out firm in London. The role is hands‑on and commercially focused, working closely with directors, commercial leads and project teams to improve financial visibility and drive profitability across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts and project reporting for multiple live construction projects.
• Prepare and maintain CVRs, WIP, accruals and ensure correct revenue recognition.
• Support cost‑to‑complete forecasting, cash‑flow visibility and monitor project margins, subcontractor costs, labour recovery and variations.
• Identify commercial risks early and drive improvements in project profitability.
• Strengthen financial and commercial controls, enhance reporting accuracy and embed purchase‑order and cost‑control processes.
• Partner with Project Managers and Commercial Teams, attend review meetings and provide insightful analysis to senior leadership.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in construction, fit‑out or other project‑based contracting environments.
• Strong understanding of CVRs, WIP accounting, revenue recognition, cost‑to‑complete and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Ability to influence operational teams and translate financial data into strategic decisions.
