Commercial Insurance Account Executive

About the role

We are partnering with an independent insurance broker in Basildon that is rapidly expanding. As a Commercial Insurance Account Executive you will develop new commercial business and nurture long‑term client relationships. You will start with a small inherited portfolio and receive support from an experienced Account Handler.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and win new commercial insurance business across sectors such as construction liability, property and fleet.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, providing tailored risk solutions.
• Manage a personal portfolio, expanding it as the business develops.
• Collaborate with an Account Handler to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to the broker’s overall growth strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial insurance sales or account executive roles within a broker environment.
• Proven ability to develop and close new business.
• Excellent relationship‑building and client‑management capabilities.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience handling a wide range of commercial insurance risks.

Required skills

• Acturis (insurance software) – advantageous but not essential.

What we offer

• Salary between £45,000 and £65,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Uncapped monthly commission.
• Annual bonus of 10% once 1.5× salary in income is generated.
