About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, is offering a Commercial Insurance Apprenticeship for its 2027 intake in Manchester. You will join as an Insurance Account Handler, helping to look after existing clients and support them with their insurance policies. You will work in a permanent role from day one while completing an 18-month development programme, earning £23,000.

Key responsibilities

• Learn the foundations of commercial insurance and how an Account Handler supports clients
• Draft clear and professional email correspondence for clients and insurers
• Answer client queries and gather information by email and phone
• Gather and share the information needed to manage policies and support client requests
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
• Manage policy amendments and the renewal process

Required profile

• No insurance experience needed; training is provided
• Full and unrestricted right to work in the UK
• Lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years
• Grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths
• Not already holding a qualification that significantly overlaps with this apprenticeship
• Confident communicator, organised, attentive to detail and proactive
