Commercial Manager

About the role

We are seeking a relationship‑focused Commercial Manager to oversee an established portfolio of customers and drive new business growth within the education and skills sector. The role covers the West Midlands, Wales and Southwest region, requiring regular travel to colleges, training providers and employers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with existing customer accounts across the assigned region.
• Maintain a minimum customer retention rate of 95%.
• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects to meet regional growth targets.
• Represent the organisation in face‑to‑face meetings, delivering consultative and relationship‑led sales solutions.
• Travel frequently, including overnight stays, to meet customers and attend events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in B2B, consultative sales within the education or skills sector.
• Demonstrated ability to retain customers and achieve high retention rates.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the West Midlands, Wales and Southwest.
