Commercial Manager – Utilities (Hybrid, £70-80k)

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a growing utilities contractor, leading the commercial function across multiple gas infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day commercial function across multiple live gas utility projects.
• Produce CVRs, forecasting, commercial reporting and financial performance analysis.
• Manage subcontractors, valuations, compensation events, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC3 and NEC4 contracts on live projects.
• Mentor and develop a Junior Quantity Surveyor.
• Hybrid working – three days in the Colchester office and two days remote.

Required profile

• Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in gas utilities, MRP or infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Proven experience in CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Ability to manage commercial performance of multiple projects.
• Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring junior team members.
