Commercial Solicitor – Consultant

About the role

Richard Nelson LLP offers experienced solicitors the chance to work as self‑employed consultants within a nationally recognised law firm. The position provides flexibility to work remotely or from the office while managing your own commercial caseload and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a personal commercial law caseload and deliver high‑quality legal advice.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, generating revenue for the firm.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
• Collaborate with the firm’s compliance, administration and accounts teams.
• Participate in regular in‑house training and utilise firm‑provided legal precedents.

Required profile

• Senior solicitor with post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Existing client base generating at least £100,000 of annual billing.
• Desire to focus on fee‑earning and client relationships without partnership constraints.
