Commercial Solicitor – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Solicitor to join a nationally‑recognised law firm in Leeds. The role involves advising a diverse client base across education, technology and public sectors on complex commercial matters, while contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex commercial contracts and strategic projects.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on IT, intellectual property and data protection issues.
• Support education sector clients and organisations in the public and technology sectors.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted adviser.
• Identify opportunities to add value and support client objectives.
• Contribute to business development, networking and thought‑leadership initiatives.
• Mentor junior lawyers where appropriate and stay updated on legal and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5–10 years post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven experience advising on commercial contracts and projects.
• Knowledge of IT, intellectual property and data protection matters.
• Strong client‑relationship and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large national firm.
• Excellent communication and commercial awareness.
• Motivation to contribute to business development and team growth.

• Salary £75,000–£85,000 per annum.
