Commissioning Engineer – Security Installations

About the role

Securitas Technology is seeking a proactive Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning phase of security installations across the North East, North West of England and Scotland. You will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are tested, validated and handed over to operations in line with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct all commissioning activities for security projects, acting as the primary on‑site commissioning authority.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to integrate commissioning into the overall project schedule.
• Mentor and guide junior commissioning team members, fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee testing, validation and documentation of CCTV, access control, intruder detection, fire and communications systems.
• Provide 3rd line technical support to the installation department and resolve any issues that arise during start‑up.
• Prepare systems for final inspection, support client acceptance and hand over to the Operations team.
• Maintain NSI installation standards, health and safety compliance and quality throughout the field work.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with high‑end integrated security systems in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong understanding of CCTV, access control, intruder detection, fire and communications technologies.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
