Commodity Buyer – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Join a leading aerospace manufacturer as a Commodity Buyer, responsible for managing supplier relationships and driving cost‑effective procurement across a wide range of materials and services. You will work on‑site in Macclesfield, benefiting from dedicated car parking and a collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with UK suppliers.
• Lead Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify and negotiate long‑term agreements (LTAs) and annual pricing structures.
• Conduct annual pricing negotiations aligned with organisational objectives.
• Coordinate regular internal and external supplier performance reviews.
• Generate and analyse spend data, project updates and cost‑saving opportunities, presenting findings to management.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment where purchasing is managed via an electronic ERP system.
• Proven track record of running RFQ processes from initiation to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate long‑term agreements with suppliers.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Confidence and perseverance to manage complex supply‑chain projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and recognise value‑engineering opportunities is a plus.
