Communications Professional – Canada

About the role

IBM is seeking a Canada Communications Professional to shape the company’s public image and drive awareness of its strategic priorities across the country. You will work within a collaborative, in‑office environment alongside marketing, communications, and CSR teams to amplify IBM’s voice in the Canadian tech sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies that align with IBM’s business growth objectives.
• Lead media, influencer, and stakeholder engagement campaigns, including story pitching and press relations.
• Collaborate with internal business executives, subject‑matter experts, and cross‑functional teams to create compelling narratives.
• Monitor industry trends and news, identifying opportunities to position IBM as a thought leader.
• Analyze communication impact using data‑driven metrics and adjust tactics as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is a plus.
• 6‑8 years of experience in external communications, preferably within a large, matrixed global organization.
• Established network of contacts in national and trade publications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
