Community Mental Health Charge Nurse (Band 6) – Adult Services

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a qualified Community Mental Health Charge Nurse (Band 6) to join its Adult Mental Health team at the Shawpark Resource Centre. This part‑time, permanent position involves leading a multidisciplinary team in delivering community‑based mental health care across North West Glasgow.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, review and discharge individuals within a defined caseload.
• Prioritise workloads, manage resources and ensure safe, effective care delivery.
• Liaise with GPs, consultants, statutory bodies and other referral sources.
• Provide clinical supervision, appraisal support and caseload management for junior nursing staff.
• Lead and develop nursing staff within the assigned clinical area.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Nurse with a live NMC UK PIN.
• Significant community nursing experience at Band 5.
• Current NMC registration and a valid driving licence.
• Strong communication, organisational and initiative‑taking abilities.
• Experience in appraisal, clinical supervision and caseload management.
