Community Mental Health Nurse – Band 5 (Permanent)

About the role

The Stewartry Community Mental Health Nursing Team is seeking a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse on a permanent basis. You will work with individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions, providing assessment, support, advice and therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and self‑management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments in a community setting.
• Develop and deliver personalised care plans in collaboration with patients, carers and multidisciplinary partners.
• Provide direct nursing interventions, medication management and crisis support.
• Coordinate with health and social care partners, third‑sector organisations and independent providers.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification with a valid NMC PIN.
• Experience working with people who have complex mental health needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy clinical team and adhere to safety standards.
