Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 5)

About the role

The NHS Scotland Stewartry Community Mental Health Nursing Team is seeking a permanent Registered Mental Health Nurse (Band 5) to join its community services. You will work with individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions, supporting their recovery and promoting self‑management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients accessing community mental health services.
• Provide advice, support, and therapeutic interventions to promote wellbeing.
• Collaborate closely with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary partners across health, social care, and third‑sector organisations.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to safe, effective care pathways.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification with a valid NMC PIN.
• Experience working with people who have complex mental health issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy clinical team.
