Company Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Company Accountant to join our finance team in an office‑based position. You will play a pivotal role in the day‑to‑day operation and ongoing development of the finance function, working closely with senior stakeholders on both operational finance and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts for multiple group entities across the UK and ROI.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and produce management accounts.
• Handle VAT returns (UK & ROI) and support PAYE and broader compliance duties.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, monitoring group cash positions.
• Oversee full ledger processes, ensuring financial accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve systems and processes.
• Manage statutory returns and liaise with external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior finance team members and contribute to ad‑hoc financial projects.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical and practical experience.
• Proven experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Strong knowledge of UK and ROI VAT requirements.
• Experience improving financial processes and controls.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
