Compliance Legal Counsel

About the role

The International Baccalaureate (IB) seeks a Compliance Legal Counsel to ensure the organisation meets regulatory requirements and manages operational risks across its global operations. Working under general direction, you will have considerable latitude to shape compliance strategy and support the Legal & Compliance team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation and periodic review of the 2026‑2030 Compliance Plan, aligning it with ISO 37301 and IB strategy.
• Support the compliance management system (CMS) through risk assessments, policy development, monitoring and reporting.
• Advise on regulatory obligations in anti‑fraud, bribery, trade sanctions, fundraising, data protection (GDPR), IT security, HR, child protection, AI and accessibility.
• Coordinate compliance training, awareness campaigns and e‑learning initiatives.
• Manage due‑diligence processes for stakeholders, donors, contractors and market expansion.
• Support internal audit and management review of the CMS to drive continual improvement.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB or JD) or equivalent with an LLM specialising in business or compliance.
• 7‑10 years of experience in legal compliance roles within international organisations or multinational companies.
• Proven experience implementing compliance frameworks, preferably ISO 37301.
• Strong knowledge of global regulatory environments, especially in the not‑for‑profit sector, GDPR, anti‑fraud, trade sanctions and fundraising.
• Experience working with NGOs or multinational entities is an asset.
