Consultant in Psychiatry – Gender Identity Service (Part‑time)

About the role

The role is a part‑time Consultant in Psychiatry within the Gender Identity Service at the Chalmers Sexual Health Centre. It replaces a retiring lead psychiatrist and provides specialist expertise in psychiatry and gender identity healthcare, supporting an expanding patient cohort.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for patients attending the Gender Identity Clinic.
• Provide additional clinical capacity to reduce waiting lists and support multidisciplinary team members.
• Conduct five face‑to‑face clinics per week with allocated time for training and education.
• Participate in service improvement, leadership, research and teaching activities as appropriate.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration, a licence to practise and eligibility for the GMC Specialist Register.
• Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within six months of confirmed entry, or an awarded Portfolio Pathway (CESR) qualification.
• Equivalent training for non‑UK applicants.
