Consultant Psychiatrist – Gender Identity Service (Part‑time)

About the role

The position is a permanent part‑time (20 hours per week) Consultant in Psychiatry within the Gender Identity Service at Chalmers Sexual Health Centre. It replaces a retiring lead psychiatrist and provides specialist psychiatric expertise for the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psychiatric care to patients attending the Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic, including face‑to‑face clinics (approximately five per week).
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialist nurses, GPs, psychologists, endocrinologists, pharmacists and other professionals to provide person‑centred gender identity healthcare.
• Contribute to service improvement, leadership, research and teaching activities as appropriate.
• Support reduction of patient waiting lists by increasing clinical capacity.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT (or within six months of confirmed entry) for UK‑trained doctors, or equivalent training for non‑UK applicants.
