Contract Manager – Empty Homes / Voids

About the role

Mears Group PLC is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the delivery of void repair and empty‑home projects across its Dartford operations. You will be responsible for both operational and commercial performance, ensuring contracts are fulfilled to the highest standards while maintaining health and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of operational and commercial delivery in line with contractual commitments.
• Oversee end‑to‑end void repairs, ensuring programmes are met and quality standards are upheld.
• Lead a team of four supervisors, conducting performance reviews, one‑to‑ones and daily briefings.
• Monitor KPIs, produce regular reports and maintain service‑delivery standards.
• Handle client queries and resident complaints efficiently.
• Support operatives and branch teams to achieve high‑quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and Mears’ standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Proven line‑management experience, preferably in voids or similar construction environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and make decisive decisions.
• Experience negotiating and influencing stakeholders.
• Knowledge of sector health & safety regulations and commercial performance management.
• Track record of managing multiple sites, capital/programmed works and delivering results.

Required skills

• IT literacy (competent with standard office software).
