Contract Specialist – IT/IS Category (12‑month contract)

About the role

Our client, a large North Sea operator, is seeking a Contract Specialist to lead procurement activities for the Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/IS) category. This is a 12‑month PAYE contract based in Aberdeen with hybrid working options.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement across the IT/IS category, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract award.
• Support the transition of existing contracts and suppliers into the joint‑venture structure, handling novation, exit or re‑tender strategies.
• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives and transition timelines.
• Engage internal stakeholders (Sub Surface, Wells, Asset, Operations & Finance) to gather requirements and define sourcing approaches.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, value delivery and risk mitigation during transition.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as MSAs, SLAs and TSAs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement governance, audit requirements and risk management policies.

Required profile

• Significant experience in contracting and procurement, preferably within IT/IS or technology categories.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software and services procurement (networks, cloud, hardware, managed services).
• Experience supporting business transitions, mergers, separations or joint ventures.
• Excellent commercial and negotiation skills, with proven ability to manage complex supplier arrangements.
• Degree level (Business/Engineering) or CIPS qualification, or equivalent extensive experience.
