Contracts & Project Manager – Steel Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking a Contracts and Project Manager to lead a portfolio of steel and metal fabrication projects from design through to on‑site installation. Based in our Winford office, you will act as the primary client liaison while coordinating with internal teams and external subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects after handover from estimating and commercial teams.
• Review scopes, specifications, drawings and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate design information, technical queries, approvals and drawing releases.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Plan and manage procurement, fabrication, finishing, delivery and installation activities.
• Monitor programmes, identify risks early and adjust schedules as needed.
• Work closely with production to schedule workshop labour, materials and capacity.
• Oversee site installation logistics including plant, cranage and deliveries.
• Attend client, design, progress and site meetings.
• Track project costs, variations and ensure commercial agreements for additional works.
• Assist with valuations, cost reporting and final account preparation.

Required profile

• Commercially aware with strong organisational abilities.
• Proven experience managing multiple live construction or fabrication projects.
• Background in steelwork, metal fabrication, architectural metalwork or related construction sectors.
• Confident communicator able to build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
