About the role
The Corporate Banking Manager will lead a portfolio of SME clients in Surrey, delivering tailored financial solutions and ensuring strong credit risk management. You will work from our Guildford office in a hybrid model, collaborating closely with internal teams to meet client needs.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of 45 corporate banking clients, with deal sizes ranging from £0.5‑20 million.
- Provide strategic financial advice and bespoke banking solutions to meet client objectives.
- Assess creditworthiness, conduct stress testing and prepare credit papers.
- Identify growth opportunities, proactively acquire new clients and expand the business.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk‑management requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver seamless service.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports for internal and external audiences.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.
- Build long‑term relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Required profile
- Strong background in corporate banking within the financial services industry.
- Experience working with SME corporate clients on transactions of £0.5‑20 million.
- Proven ability to create and stress‑test credit‑worthiness reports.
- Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills for financial data and market trends.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and risk‑management practices.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Proactive approach to business development and client acquisition.
