Corporate Counsel – Procurement

About the role

Caterpillar Inc. is looking for a Corporate Counsel to join its Procurement Legal Support Team in Belfast. You will work in a fast‑paced in‑house environment, advising senior procurement and product leaders on commercial agreements with strategic suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of procurement‑focused commercial agreements.
• Partner with internal business clients to ensure contracts meet commercial needs while protecting the company.
• Provide legal risk assessments and advice on contractual terms.
• Collaborate with regional lawyers and other functional teams to align agreements with corporate policies and risk tolerances.
• Engage outside counsel on a limited, as‑needed basis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders as a trusted legal advisor.

Required profile

• Experience managing a high volume of commercial matters in a corporate or law‑firm setting.
• Strong ability to set priorities, adapt quickly to changing business needs and make sound judgments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of risk‑management processes and tools.
